History

T.A. Savery is one of the UK’s longest established Hydraulics Companies, and was founded at the beginning of the 20th Century, as Precision Engineers, and manufacturers of Steam Engines. Examples of these original engines can still be found in Museums today.

However, the Savery name has been associated with Engineering even longer, in fact to the Birth of the Industrial Revolution in Britain, when Captain Savery was one of the first engineers to design and make Steam Engines, and release the Power of Steam, changing Britain into the Industrial Nation from which modern industries including Hydraulics originate.

Savery's first venture into hydraulics was the development of a pump in the 1940's for operating the landing gear on Spitfire Aircraft.
